Portfolio Restructuring
Petropar (now EVORA) was a public company, with strong family control, active in petrochemicals, transformation of polymers (nonwovens, packaging, fibers and fabrics), fertilizers and some agricultural activities. Kaufmann joined Petropar in 1990, as the Senior member of the Office of the President, with a mission to:
- improve ROI by optimizing the business portfolio;
- “professionalize” the group and prepare it for future growth; and
- manage the transition of generations in the family
The business portfolio was completely redefined; and as a result the net equity of the group doubled, improving liquidity substantially. Future growth strategies were defined, especially through Joint Ventures with international groups.
The transition of generations was successfully completed.
Currently FITESA the wholly owned subsidiary of Evora in nonwovens is one of the largest producers in the world, with operations and plants in several countries.
